Kantri gets to dampening talk Friday, May 9th, 2008 at 3:31 pm The much-awaited film Kantri, an NTR-starrer, got released to hysterical collections today. Movie-buffs, particularly the star-fans, queued up at the theatres all over the state right from the early hours. In centers like Tirupati, notorious for its pre-dawn and midnight shows, it was a field day for revelers and NTR fans. However, the show’s opening report was to a large extent created a dampening talk. The villain is said to be have been the uninteresting and nagging story, with stretched out screenplay and too dramatic direction of Meher Ramesh. This debutante director in Telugu, said to be a relative to megastar, has clearly missed the fire in the film and couldn’t repeat the Kannada magic which he did with two films there. Hansika Motwani, the girl who entered the realms of Tollywood with Desamuduru, failed to recover her lapses of the earlier film when it comes to emoting, but ripped out the glamor factor. Thin comedy, non-serious and why-the-fuss-is-this type stunts dominated the film. The major plus points of Kantri are – superb dance sequences, scintillating cinematography and some bits of directive taking.
