no..because ur making sweeping generalization based on my earlier comment that I like sharp features... lemme explain,, I like chappidi mukku preity zinta better than sharp featured kareena.. I find donda mukku maheshbabu better looking than sharp featured SRK irrespective of race tribe nation color I like people who have good fatures.. what is good? it is hard to explain..mukku noru kallu anni kalisi ravali oka mohamlo(sharp or blunt doesnt matter).. now if I have make a generic comparision..between sharp features and blunt features.yes I have to say sharp features r more appealing beacause irrespective of their hair style,makeup their facial features stand out...they dont need additional package to make their face appealing...that is just my observation..comparisions exist anywhere/everywhere.. having said that I dont actually mean to say good features are sharp features....I dont die to see sharp caucasian featured women on screen..I don't have sharp features women as my partner preference..I dont by default indicate people with blunt features are bad looking.. hope u got the point..

This is not just in India. People allover the world are fascinated towards fair skin. There are many bleaching/fairness creams that get sold online in USA, Mainly targeting the african americans..I guess the limited market(because it only targets 10-15% of the population) & political correctness here is the reason for not advertising on the Television. Black community in USA looks like a color map from pitch black to almost caucasian white..yet most women you see in entertainment biz is fairskinned gals like beyonce or Hally barre. If you watch any black sitcom..it looks almost like South Indian film to me ..where all the men are dark and women are fair skinned..mexican TV lo kooda anthey..main ga kanipinchedhi anglo-spanish janalu..native american features/color unna mexicans asalu tv lo rare ga kanipistharu..eventhough they are the majority in mexico. whether this attraction towards fair skin is genetic or influenced by behavior is debatable..but i will you this..there is study done in which black kids as young as 2 were asked to choose between black doll and white doll and the over whelming majority picked white doll over the blackone. | ||

this is a topic that always fascinated me. why is fairer skin seen as a more desirable feature in india. my observations - 1) lower number of fair skinned people - low supply high demand 2) foreign rule - there is no history of fair skinned people considered as more desirable in indian history. if anything our old scriptures are rife with praise to dark skinned deities. this might have changed after fair skinned people (turks britishers and north indians after independence) assumed the role of rulers thus associating fair skin with racial supremacy 3) varna system - brahmins are fair skinned in most of india. may be a sub conscious effort to look more like them 4) popular culture - expanding on the above 3, modern writers and movie makers with no sense of identity embraced the idea of fair is better. lot of insensitive ridicule on skin color even in today's movies making dark skinned people self loathing and low moraled about their color. subtle indicators in school text books like apple "for the fairest woman" http://bit.ly/qZt19W High command relation with low command must be like fish and water. US diplomat regrets her 'dirty, dark' remark on Tamilians CHENNAI: A diplomat at the US consulate here Saturday expressed her deep regrets over her remark - "I became dirty and dark, like a Tamilian" - that has stirred a major controversy. Vice Consul of the US Consulate Maureen Chao made the remark at a function Friday at SRM University, around 40 km from here. The US Consulate has also termed her comment as inappropriate. However, students and officials of the university maintain there was nothing racial about the US official's remark. In a statement put up on its website, the US Consulate said: "Yesterday (Friday) at a Study Abroad Orientation Program at SRM University, Vice Consul Maureen Chao gave a speech describing positive memories from her own study abroad experiences in India 23 years ago."
