Cherry Went On Fasting For Upasana! We often come across children in our homes adopting a stubborn stand to get their wishes fulfilled by elders. Sometimes, they even boycott food to emotionally blackmail their parents, so that they would get their desires fulfilled. Rising star Ram Charan Teja, alias Cherry, adopted the same technique to get his wish – of marrying his girl friend Upasana Kamineni – fulfilled. According to inside sources, Cherry went on “upavasam” (fasting) for a day or two to emotionally blackmail his parents – Chiranjeevi and Surekha and finally make them agree to his marriage with Upasana. Poor Chiranjeevi is already a disturbed man. He could not get his daughters married off as per his wishes, without controversy. He thought he could at least perform the marriage of Cherry as per his wishes, by looking for a right bride within his own community. But when Ram Charan declared that he had loved Upasana and would marry only her, Chiranjeevi’s hopes were completely shattered. He tried to prevail upon Cherry to drop the proposal, as it might affect his political image as well and he might lose Kapu votes. But Cherry was too adamant to listen to his parents. For one full day, he reportedly skipped meals and got confined to his room.
