Synopsis: An Italian epic that follows the lives of two brothers, from the 1960's to the 2000's. My view: Master piece. It is a damn shame that this movie is not even in Top250. An insult to movie lovers. Some might get a feel this is Italian version of 'Motorcycle Diaries'. It might be true to some extent. The portrayal of characters, screenplay and the direction is all poetic. In the genre of family/drama, this movie stands alone. At first I was terrified on how to finish the movie considering the 6hr run time. I wasnt settled for good until Giorgia character enters. Then one of the brothers takes us from italy to norway. We get to see some natures beauty etc. Part 2 of the movie is pretty intense. I completed the movie in two sittings. Take sometime and watch this movie. Donot however, see part 2 and then go to part 1. There is no way you can connect the emotions in the characters. In this db, there's always someone watching you!!  |
