i think MMS is more like Nehru in his worldview.. a view heads of govts shouldn't be having.. just hope by the time he leaves, he won't do as much damage as Nehru did in terms of policies with our neighbors.. i would say the license raj for 4 decades inflicted an economic violence of huge proportion.. but see how the middle class bank employees, etc reacted to the reforms then.. it's the leadership which is important to make people understand.. pv has no great charm to convince the masses, but within his limits as a political player, he was enormously successful in piloting the reforms.. that way, he was a great politician..
