Russia used to be and still is a big clinical trial field as well... here the laws specifically state that the people undergoing trials have to be notified of any side effects no matter what ....and the person has to sign a wavier or acceptance ...in india you can circumvent the process by simply making the guy sign a letter without even informing the side effects....in this country there is risk of malpractice suits ...10-15 years ago there was a big hue and cry when AU pharmacy proffs were testing new drugs on their own students which was a violation or medical trials.... | ||

i remember this being discussed , and it struck me..... I was speaking to a doctor friend of mine from India...... at first nenu nammaledhu...... this is a rig which involves doctors, medical reps and some hosiptals....... they do use Indian public for trials without their knowledge and this is because of that fact that,,,we never question our doctor or his prescribed medicine......that trust is taken for a toss and things like these are happening...... don't know the exact news, but western pharmaceutical companies have been doing these sorts of experiments for eons in poor/developing countries. Almost all US companies have to provide human test results for approval of their drugs. All these human tests are mostly done in poor countries. I will give you an example, there is a new vasectomy procedure pending for approval in US. Do you know where they are testing this procedure? In India, and the worst case is, they are not even telling the patients in India that this is in test phase. They are basically collecting the supporting data from India for approval in US. | ||
