Indiarocks:Part2 video at 2:40, very relevant to the current situation. People rally behind Hazares, and Ramdevs, NGOs but hate politicians, and Govt.
i think when he talks about citizens empowerment he is talking about direct control of people over their governance at local level, not citizen initiated bills at national level like what is happening now pululu simhaalu antu emi undavu. just a matter of convenience http://i51.tinypic.com/rsv53o.jpg |

Sanman:i am talking about disappointing performance of loksatta in elections. there is lot of anger in people against corruption and JP failed to project LS as a viable alternative. unfortunately India is not politically mature and a party needs a lot of imagination and effort to take your ideas effectively to people and make them vote for you, at the same time not lose the party integrity. I am not saying the effort is lacking but i hope you agree there is some level of failure whenever a party's philosophy is not lacking but the election results are. not fair to attribute the failure to him individually but as the party president he does have a responsibility
Politically, the failure is there. No denying that. One important thing to understand is that what LSP is trying is to bring a change in ppl's thinking altogether. A thinking that brewed inside them for decades, and probably centuries. Politically active ppl rally behind religion, caste, money. And the rest think that politics, and Govt, are something not related to them. Even for the independence struggle we had a foreign enemy. I believe it is much easier to rally ppl behind such an enemy, than against enemies within themselves. GHMC elections lo LSP campaign chesinatlu evaru cheyaledu. Yet only 20% ppl came out to vote. Malli prathi okkadiki Kukatpally overnight maripovali, singapore aipovali. Asalu janala indifference ki inkokadu aithe chee ani lite theesukuntaru. |

Indiarocks:I don't get this. JP is probably one of the most successful politicians in the country, measuring by his contributions to the nation.

whether you agree with JP or not you have to admit he is the most qualified candidate in current politics to become CM or even PM. i hope he gets a chance. there are things where i don't agree with him but compared to other politicians they are not even worth mentioning. India needs 100 JPs in each state. people talk a lot about his failures but they wont say whether they agree with him or not. if you agree with him more than other politicians, it is your fault for not helping him win. it is not his job alone to clean up the mess. if you dont agree with him you have to answer to yourselves whether you are subjecting those whom you support to the same standards as him pululu simhaalu antu emi undavu. just a matter of convenience http://i51.tinypic.com/rsv53o.jpg |
