i can never understand the aura about the deities....I never felt overcome with piousness for anything in my life even when i see something like the murty in tirumala....but I know people who get too emotional when it comes to it.....like unimaginable.... maa intlo oka avva undedhi..she is a rich mean avva...no one used to like her in our house as she is mean n egoistic..she was in her almost early 80's when i was only 10....maa nellore lo ranganayakula swamy gudi world famous....and every summer edho chesthar aa gudi lo...its like an auspicious day and we will have fairs and radhams and everything....aru noorina sarey maa avva aa roju dhemunni chudali anedhi....and she cant go alone...someone has to hold her to get into car or rickshaw and then when we get there she will walk slowly taking 10mins to walk 10 feet and during this time she will be just mean all along cursing n complaining....so my family thought only someone with low self respect can handle her meanness and they chose me....and when i first took her to temple they bribed me for one rupee....u take avva to temple and bring her back .... u get 1 rupee if she comes back alive and 10rs if she is dead....and I took her....first time...she was mean man....and then the moment we entered the temple she goes into trance....and the moment she sees the deity and she starts yelling "Rangaaaa.....occhey samvatsaram osthano ledho rangaa....." and I was thinking ...u kidding u cant even walk 10 ft properly u wont make it to next year.... and then next year came....my family this time increased my bribe 2rs to bring her alive...20 rs to bring her dead.....and we went to the temple...she took 2 hrs to walk in the temple and then she saw god and she shouted...."Rangaaaa.....occhey samvatsaram osthano ledho rangaa....." and this went on for next 8 or 9 years...till I left india....every year summer through out my teens I used to take her..and everytime she sees the deity she shouts"Rangaaaa.....occhey samvatsaram osthaney ledho rangaa....." .. when i took her last time my bribe was 500 to being her alive and 5000 to bring her dead...and then i left to here....she made two more rounds i guess .... but ultimate kamedy "Rangaaaa.....occhey samvatsaram osthano ledho rangaa....." | ||
