individual humans are moral beings (by nature or necessity aa anedi let's leave it) does not automatically imply the representative nation states are so.. they may (or even at times pretend to) be moral, in so far as to generate support among individual humans.. but their actual goal is to further the interests of the people they represent.. which nation state is successfully doing this for the last 200 years or so? it's undoubtedly the US - balancing the moral acts with its goals.. undoubtedly the most free nation welcoming one and all to its shores and at the same time, pursuing its interests diligently.. enlighten me sire abt how you comply this definition of nation state seeped in "expansion is the best defense" premise (also famously called imperialism) with notions of morality, relative or the other. U def come across as a relativist. the question of whether what the US did is right is irrelevant.. the US does what it does because it can and that is its only goal.. the only true goal of any nation state is to secure and further its self-interests.. if that were not the case, there would be no reason for its people to contribute their taxes and prop up a govt.. the 80's-------they create a hero out of no where fund him ( to the extent of 60 billion dollars then)....the media props him with titles like "The new hero for islamic democracy" comes late 90's-----He says....u move ur asses out of our holy land and stop killing my fellow citizens in palestine. The system doesnt like it. The funding is cut...sanctions imposed....and he is now no longer a friend... come 2000's-------his death is rejoiced.
