With every passing day, one could see a surprising change in the tone and tenor of YSR Congress party leaders towards Congress president Sonia Gandhi. They seem to have softened their stand on her. Close on the heels of party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s interview to Hindustan Times saying that he was not averse to supporting Sonia Gandhi after the elections, his loyalist and Parkal MLA Konda Surekha came out with a more or less similar statement. She told the media that Jagan had never attacked Sonia Gandhi using harsh words, but had made only political criticism. She was reacting to the comment of Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi that Jagan had insulted womenfolk by making derogatory comments against Sonia Gandhi. "In fact, Chiranjeevi's brothers have made derogatory comment against women. We have all the records to prove that," she said. Well, what about Surekha’s comments against Sonia? Did she not give a call to her party workers to bury Sonia Gandhi? "Sonia nu bonda pettentha varaku manamu nidra povoddu" (we should not sleep until we bury Sonia) was her comment at the party workers meeting in Warangal. And there are records for the same!
