idhekkada gola sami, players should be able to choose when they can play and cant. if a player feels he should take off, and do some other stuff so be it. what matters is how much does he give when he plays for the country, as long as he commits himself fully to the team when he is playing, and gives due notice on his availability, the responsibility should be on the board to be able to keep the team running without a handful of players. it gives more players exposure, and it helps players to take breather from the pressure of playing all the time. if the lack of Gayle in the team helps some new youngsters, i would say he is doing the board to try out few more players. the world of appearances may or may not be real, or both may and may not be real - or may be indescribable; or may be real and indescribable, or unreal and indescribable; or in the end may be read and unreal and indescribable - its all Syadvada | ||

SLC question Malinga injury claims Sri Lanka cricket officials cast doubt on Lasith Malinga`s injury claims by saying it is "awkward" that he plays in the lucrative IPL. Chief selector Duleep Mendis said today that Malinga wrote to the board to say he was unavailable for the three tests starting from May 26. "It looks a bit awkward that he (Malinga) says that he is injured and continues to play cricket," Mendis said. "When a player says he is injured we want him to undergo a rehabilitation program immediately without playing cricket." Mendis said the selectors will inform the fast bowler, a standout in 30 tests and 84 one-dayers, that he should be fit to play for the national team. Malinga`s choice has reopened the country-versus-club debate. Sports Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage said national team players in the IPL will have to return home early for practices before traveling to England. He said in future, permission for players to participate in foreign leagues will be given only when it doesn`t affect the national cricket calendar. Besides Malinga, captain Tillakaratne Dilshan, former skipper Kumar Sangakkara and star Mahela Jayawardene were playing for various franchises in the IPL.
