HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has finalised toll rates on the completed portion of the Outer Ring Road (ORR).

Out of the total 158-km ORR stretch, 62 km of roads have been completed and the remaining stretches are in various stages of completion.

Toll amount payable will be based on travel distance and rounded-off to the nearest denomination of 10 for ease of payment. Toll fees for Gachibowli to Andhra Pradesh Police Academy (10.5 km) are Rs 10 for cars and Rs 30 for trucks. For Gachibowli to Shamshabad (22km), the rates would be Rs20 for cars and Rs 60 for trucks and from Gachibowli to Peddamberpet (62 km), the rates would be Rs 50 for cars and Rs170 for trucks.

HMDA officials said the toll collection would begin in about 90 days, immediately after finalisation of tenders. Meanwhile, traffic has been allowed in the stretch from Gachibowli to Peddamberpet via Shamshabad for all four-wheelers including trucks, from March 1. HMDA officials informed that toll is chargeable only on the main carriage way. The service roads would be not under toll and will cater to mixed traffic.

They added that the 38.63-km stretch from Shamshabad to Peddamberpet on the Vijayawada National Highway has been completed with 8 lanes and access-controlled features. With the completion of the other stretch, 62-km roads would be available for travel from Vijayawada road to Gachibowli via Shamshabad.
