VIJAYAWADA: Realising that the ongoing Telangana agitation could affect them, corporate hospitals are eyeing Vijayawada -- the heart of coastal region -- big time. While Kamineni, Apollo and Yashoda hospitals have initiated plans, L V Prasad Eye Institute has already launched its operations. Sources said several other corporate and private hospitals are also likely to enter the market once the air connectivity to Gannavaram airport improves. While some of the major hospital groups opened outfits in the port city of Visakhapatnam in the past, the groups have included Vijayawada in their expansion schemes. More than a dozen 100-bed corporate hospitals are coming up in and around Vijayawada.
