HYDERABAD/VIJAYAWADA: It's official now. Ending the suspense over unofficial load shedding in the state, the power utilities on Monday imposed a seven-hour power cut in the rural areas and two hours in the urban areas with immediate effect. However, for the time being Greater Hyderabad has been exempted from the official power cuts. But going by past experience, instances of unofficial outages would increase. AP Transco chairman and MD Ajay Jain told TOI that power cuts would be enforced in all municipalities, towns and mandal headquarters.
