I am a doctor form India; I did my M.B.B.S in Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada, India. After completing my under graduation in medicine, I made my journey towards United States of America to do a specialization in internal medicine in 2008. As I am in the process of completing the medical board exams to make my dreams come true, the unexpected happened in my life. As you are probably aware, Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) is a serious problem that affects the lives of numerous individuals in our community and around the world. I was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) in February 2010. I took 6 cycles of HYPER CVAD chemotherapy in BenTaub Hospital, Houston, Tx, until July 2010. But in July, I became very sick and went into septic shock due to infection. I was hospitalized for 47 days and developed gangrene on my both feet because of the over usage of pressors by doctors to maintain my blood pressure. Now I am on daily dressings of the feet, Gleevec (Imatinib), and pain killers. I am waiting for the vascular clearance of gangrene on my feet in order to go for the cord blood transplantation. I'm writing to ask for your support. I rely on the support from generous individuals like you to make progress toward living with this terrible illness.
