I still dont understand in american esp with big companies who pay contractors atleast 100+ per hour and keep the countractors for years. Whats the point in hiring a contractor if he is gonna stay atleast 3 years? Back in 2004, my roommate was a fulltimer working for IBM Global, a sister company for IBM. His team was around 13, 10 of them were contractors working with them for 5+ years. One of them was working since 9 years. And another one floated a contracting company hired few indians and placed all of them in his project billing the company millions of dollars over the years. One fine day the offshoring/outsourcing bug bit the team and all the contractors were let go. All of the were working in SAP division billing atleast 250+ per hour. Okadi pay chooyinchaadu.. 12K per pay check, paid every fortnight. Now after all of them were let go, my colleage who was hired as a fresher and had about 2yr of experience by then managed almost all the projects with two other full timers. This is how american consulting works. Milking the client and the client in turn american public. A viscious circle.. just came to know today that, 1 american contractor who was paid travel expenses + good hourly rate and he worked in the company for 4 years ni layoff chesaru last week....He has a good reputation in the company...but the reason for his layoff is same skillset tho offshore lo some dude from CTS ni $25/hr ki hire chesaru.. |
