Frodo:before he got involved with her, agassi was a brat and nincompoop of the 1st order.
that is precisely what makes him and his story MORE interesting.....he exhibited a RESILIENCE that is unforeseen in the history of tennis..
Frodo: his work for the school he started shields him from a lot of criticism when he does utterly unclassy stuff like what he did in the hit for haiti exo in 2010.
nice try....agassi started his foundation in 1994..the school, yes, in 2001...but the foundation and his charity activities were started in 1994...so if u, by any means, were implying that he started his school to gulp down his guilt, you are totally wrong.. |

Kamal:except stats .. ela chusina .. Agassi rocks ..
I agree...pete di bio book ochindi, the mind of a champion ano edo..20 pages kuda chadavalem..most boring, just like pete..
Frodo:what he did in the hit for haiti exo in 2010.
it was sampras who started to get bad vibes in that match..he was the first to turn the sarcasm into bad blood....agassi even said 'now, this is hurting you eh' or sth to that effect..sampras is totally at fault in that incident..he did not know how to handle sarcasm and being himself, he started to show his frustration on his face....now that is mature |

Frodo:
I grew up watching Becker, Edberg and Graff so u can understand why i like players such as pete and Roger... the game seems more elegant with such players....only baseline game i like is that of nadal and del potro to some extent |

Frodo:sampras owns agassi anyway you cut the tennis numbers.
LOL...first cut - sampras did not win french open once.... 2nd (though derived from the 1st cut) - sampras did not have a golden slam under his belt.. and agassi did have a fair record against sampras..14-19 if iam not mistaken..... when agassi confessed abt crystal meth, you said he was being honest....when agassi admitted that he "thought" he was talented than sampras, you have a problem..willful thinking eh?? agassi's mention that pete was a bad tipper is not a REVELATION by any means...agassi stated this many times before the book was released..so there's nothing 'more damaging' in this aspect.. |

Ipc302:Agassi's game no so interesting...that baseline, double handed game is the most boring part in tennis...
AA's game is not the usual boring baseline. he used to take the ball early on both wings and his groundstrokes were laser like. the only guy who can deal better with half-volleys is mr. fed! fed's forehand is far superior to aggasiz but his backhand is much weaker ( though more graceful and elegant) than AA's pete's serving, on-the-run forehands and overhead smashes were a thing of beauty. pete/roger/rafa are much superior athletes than AA. roger/andre are superior ball-strikers than pete/rafa. What the executioner did after he was done with his job. (4,6) |

Jp_rocks:i don't think he whined abt sampras
he is more talented than sampras? at best, that makes andre look like he is tooting his own horn. sampras owns agassi anyway you cut the tennis numbers. agassi needed to take the high-road regarding this topic. instead he wanted to show people that pete was a bad-tipper and/or that pete was cheap. that was hitting below the belt and something andre could have totally avoided. infact, once the book was released, pete, as he always does with andre, took this in his stride and talked to AA personally and thought the issue was settled, but AA dug it up again in that exo for haiti earthquake victims. agassi definitely let himself down on this topic. it is absolutely no mistake of pete that agassi cannot accept the fact that sampras has had a better tennis career than AA. AA comes off very insecure whenever he has to talk about pistol pete! What the executioner did after he was done with his job. (4,6) |

Agassi's game no so interesting...that baseline, double handed game is the most boring part in tennis... pete was the best and in fact may be the best ever with KINg... it was a joy to watch pete on those fast grass courts...those were the days wish pete and roger battled out in those fast grass courts with serve and volley yes pete couldn't connect well with the crowd but his game was top notch and those slam dunk shots, crazy |

Jp_rocks:aa dog moothi sampras
abbayila moothulu choose habit manuko PB agassi makes an excellent commentator - him/courier and johnny mac would be my dream commentating team. and there is no doubt agassi is an extremely talented player. coming to "class", he owes a lot of that to fraulein forehand! before he got involved with her, agassi was a brat and nincompoop of the 1st order. even since then, that ugly side rears its head. his work for the school he started shields him from a lot of criticism when he does utterly unclassy stuff like what he did in the hit for haiti exo in 2010. i think sampras, as a person, is much more mature and classy. he is not stylish/good-looking and not a entertainer, but as a person, pete rarely behaves as immature as andre so often did/does What the executioner did after he was done with his job. i don't think he whined abt sampras...he genuinely felt he was more talented than sampras..this candidness is what made open highly entertaining and honest |

AA is an excellent showman and public speaker. He deserves a lot of credit for Open. Ofcourse it does not hurt that JRM is a pulitzer prize winner. What makes Open exciting is that AA went that extra mile to bare his heart and soul out. gives the normal spectator a lot of ammo to talk/discuss/analyse. it is not your run-of-the-mill cliched/hackneyed sports bio. the best part of the book is easily andre's relationship with his dad which made him hate the sport. it is very hard not to feel sorry for andre when you read about the pressure mike agassi dumped on his extremely talented kid. one of the most gifted shot-makers of all time hates the sport! that explains so many stupid things andre has done on and off the court. the worst part of the book is andre's whining about sampras and his confession about using crystal meth and the atp helping him cover up that fact! i am guessing andre snuck these in when graf was busy with the kids. steffi would have wiped their living room floor with andre's butt after she found out he wrote this kind of stuff. bottomline : some critic wrote about Open - honesty is refreshing but i wish it came for a few dollars less What the executioner did after he was done with his job. Andre Agassi was a phenomenon in his prime....a son of an iranian immigrant, he came from a v v modest background to achieve what he had achieved.. book aite na bhu na bha....narration by JRM was v v v good but i attribute a fair share of it's narration to Agassi.. OPEN, like Andre Agassi's game, is a delight to experience....i am glad you are indulging in the experience.. Agassiii |

The guy is a terrific writer. Not sure how much of it is b'coz of the collaboration with J.R Moehringer. The book is riveting and to read all the things he reveals makes me wonder how it was for him to live with the things he was doing. I mean to wear a wig day after day and put on an appearance when he is not an actor is something. The best part of reading a book like "open" or watching a movie like "social network" is that they are happening now, in our current lifetime and we are actively involved in these events a la watching a match between Agassi and Baghdatis or using facebook everyday. |
