But is this song really about loneliness and befriending the city to overcome that??? nahhhhh....this song is actually about heroin the drug.... "I dont ever wanna feel like I did that day Take me to the place I love take me all the way....." the writer sayin dont ever wanna feel that anguish n the pain n the humiliation of losin my lover....so "take me to the place I love"....u see when u shoot heroin they say u take the best orgaxsm u ever had and multiply it with a billion...and u end up at the place of eternal pleasure, insulated from those haunting memories n those painful moments, "take me all the way"... means give me the right hit....I dont want to take any chances i want to go all the way into that world ani kavi bhavam..... "Under the Bridge downtown is where I drew some blood" normally drug addicts roam under bridges....heroin is injected into blood with needles...so he is talking about drawin blood.... "Under the Bridge downtown I forgot my love" "Under the Bridge downtown I gave my life away" while doing heroin under that bridge he managed to forget his life...but in the process dude have his life away.... In LA therez these place near malibu mullholland dr , agora hills etc etc ...you go to these places ur actually drivng away from the city into an altitude....So at nights its all pitch dark on these roads and if you are alone in the car the only thing with u is the loneliness and peace of the seclusion and from the window you can see LA shining beneath the hills....and then this song plays and if u listen to it u really connect to it..... sometimes i feel like my only friend is the city i live in, the city of angels | ||
