Global Positioning System..GPS typically all these GPS manufacturers have access to these satellite maps. every manufacturer have their own algorithm to calculate the directions between two points. the GPS unit will receive signal from satellite and identify where you are located and provide directions from that point. PND -> you mean PDA? http://electronics.howstuffworks.com/gps.htm just like google maps, yahoo maps etc..they use their own algorithm to calculate..thats why sometimes you see slight different in the directions to same palce. | ||
