Rachchabanda Becomes Uchchabanda! The protests by the Telangana agitators against the conduct of Rachchabanda programme in the region are taking ugly proportions with every passing day. While one section of the Telangana protestors described the programme as “Chachchu Banda†(useless affair), another section boycotted the same, saying that it was a “rochchu banda†(filthy programme). At several places, the protestors attacked the vehicles of ministers, MLAs and officials with eggs, tomatoes and even buffalo dung to register their protest against the conduct of the programme without solving the demand for separate Telangana. The pro-Telangana agitators, particularly students, at Alagadapa village in Miryalguda mandal in Nalgonda district went a step ahead and converted Rachchabanda programme into “uchchabanda†(urinal). The protestors desecrated the entire place by urinating in the premises en masse, creating a filthy environment. There is nothing wrong in registering the protests and stalling the Rachchabanda programme for the sake of Telangana. But resorting to such filthy steps like urinating and attacking with dung, will only project the Telangana movement in a bad light. Somebody should tell them to mend their ways, please.  |
