HYDERABAD: Some Telangana Congress MPs reportedly told the party high command at yesterday's meeting in New Delhi that trifurcation of the state would be the only solution to the present crisis. They told Union finance minister Pranab Mukherjee, defence minister AK Antony, law minister M Veerappa Moily and party president's political secretary Ahmed Patel to take steps for trifurcation of Andhra Pradesh state with Hyderabad as a 'common capital' for a period of five to six years period. It is learnt that Telangana Congress MP G Sukhender Reddy and others had submitted a proposal to the Central Congress leaders seeking steps to 'trifurcate' the state instead of bifurcation as was demanded by several parties. With Tirupati and Vijayawada as headquarters for other two states i.e. Rayalaseema and Andhra, Hyderabad city should be continued as a common capital till the other two regions developed their own cities or capitals. Besides, steps should be taken to set up separate authorities to look after distribution of river waters among the three states.It is further learnt that Mukherjee, in response to the Telangana Congress MPs request for introduction of a bill on Telangana in the forthcoming budget session of Parliament, made it clear that there was a procedure for introduction of a bill in Parliament. "An issue first needs a cabinet approval and will be then sent to the law department for further action,'' he said. Telangana MPs who included G Sukhender Reddy, M Jagannadham, P Balram Naik, S Rajaiah and P Prabhakar met Union minister for urban development and Chevella MP S Jaipal Reddy at his residence this morning and briefed him on yesterday's discussions held with AICC leaders.
