I have seen one side of the equation, I can't speak for the other side.
Having a working mom- taught both me and my brother to be more appreciative of what she did for us - we became more considerate in our demands and willingness to take the burden off her shoulders - if we wanted carrot halwa - unlike our friends who commanded their moms 'make me carrot halwa' today - we would help her with a lot of it 
Do the other kids have it better that they get their whims fulfilled - maybe
I see the value in the consideration for our mom we learnt too
Depends on what you deem more important I think we all make choices we think are best for our children

Lunch nundi ochha ippude....thread chala lengthy ayi poyindi difficult to read....naa bottomline from MY EXPERIENCES pedatha:
1) Working Women will not have same time as a House Wife. So oka EDUCATED House Wife ki kids ki chaduvu cheppatam, cook cheyatam and other household chores ki unde time working lady ki undadu! I see in my friends/family circle that a working lady is BUSY COOKING MOST OF SUNDAY AFTERNOON so that they need not cook next 5 days!! A House wife has all the time in the world to take care of a kid coming from School at 3:30PM....whereas a kid of a working women goes to some day care after school! Kids picked up at 6PM in most cases. Lady is already tired and she does her best to help kids but not having much time!
2) I see a lot of health problems like frequent cold/fever in kids going to day care!
3) Middle/High School time period a lot of attention needed on kids and this would be the tricky time for a working lady!
Coming to me.....very high chances that my wife will start working sometime this year AND I KNOW I AM COMPROMISING ON MY KIDS ACADEMICS AND HEALTH!
Naa circle lo unna vallantha ladies TEAM LEADS kinda roles and valla ki mostly inti ki ochhaka kuda average 1-2 hours daily yedo office work untadi and appudappudu week end work untadi! ALSO, KIDS NI AADAVALLU TEERCHI DIDDINATTU GENTS TAKE CARE CHEYALERU!
NENU IKKADA CHEPPINA VI ANDARIKI APPLY KAAKAPOVACHHU! BUT MY OBSERVATION IN THE LAST 11 YEARS! |

all said and done, a house is run by a woman. man can only help and in most cases, he actually makes it worse. so a working woman who manages the work side problems AND runs a house should definitely get more respect than any one else, forget about a regular housewife - a working woman should by default get even more respect than a working man. |

from when did a kid's education become the singular responsibility of the mom ( working or stay at home)
how come dads are excused from that responsibility?
so dads can just work bring home the check and kcik back and drink beer watching football or reading dbs? |

I don't know how would you compare ? And what factors do you consider ? If I take sibling conflicts and looking after the parents - by our own example we seem to be doing as well as if not better than some of the family members with stay at home moms - again I do not see a direct correlation...
