Senapathy:Surrender avadam is only one way of attaining Moksha.
you mean surrender to Vishnu is the only way of attaining Moksha? effector of Karma ante enti? why cant Shiva be the effector of Karma? Oka hypothetical scenario esukundam.. Prahladudu vishnu bhakthudu kada. for suppose Prahlad ki sudden ego ekkuvayyi,Shiva bhakthulni harrassing chesthu forcibly Vaishnavism ki turning cheyatam modalettadanukundam.. appudu Shivudu avatharam ethi Prahladudnni champi undevada or vishnu ve champevada? As per your theory .. Vishnu cannot kill Prahlada because Prahlad surrendered himself completely to Vishnu. |

Getafix:ivanni side ki pettesi hey Vishnu ani ela antar?
Avasaram ledu. Surrender avadam is only one way of attaining Moksha. Vishnu, my feeling, just is an effector of your Karma. Asuras are defacto against Vishnu. If there is an apparent reason like in case of Hiranyakashyapu, everyone is bound by their Karma. Trying to kill Vishnu's devotee is reason enough to get slain. |

aa hatred ki reason Vishnu ye kada.. i mean he fueled that hatred. Hiranyakashapudi hatred towards Vishnu is understandable anipisthadi..He is mad because Vishnu killed his brother. A person's brother kiled and his other rakshas colleagues were killed by the Vishnu and top of it .. the killings were done as favors to Devas who were that eprson's enemy.. ivanni side ki pettesi hey Vishnu ani ela antar? |

Getafix:Does it mean not to question vishnu's glaring partiality to Devas?
I think they are two different aspects. Puranas lo baaga masala etti, oka sandesham istaaru. Vishnu, I feel is not partial. The asuras do not overcome their hatred to understand Vishnu. And the hatred is imbibed to them by birth. When Rama killed Vali, he said that in the next life you will fall me. I think, anthaa Karma baddham anukunta. |

Getafix:yet got killed by Vishnu?
Let us see it in a different light. Bramha, Vishnu and Shiva as creator, protector and destroyer roles. That makes MahaVishnu in a critical role of balancing the protection of the righteous from the unrighteous. Asuras might have the power and talent equivalent to Devas, but most of them were against Vishnu who protects Devas (who run to him for protection). Age old mythical rivalry anna maata. Other point. Sharanu korithey Vishnu will protect you - as long as it is complete submission. |

Naaku enduko Bramha and Shiva neutral anipisthundi. It is Vishnu (the saviour) who is approached by devas for all their deeds. And Bramha is the toughest to please, and of course Shiva is apparently easiest. Bhola Shankarudu antaaru. Will give you what you want. Bhasmasurudu case is the perfect egjample |

http://ancientindians.net/analysis/yadavas/ link lo brief ga seppad There is a popular story that Anjaneya (Hanuman) defended Yayati when Sri Rama was about to punish him based on a complaint (order) from Viswamitra. At that time Yayati ruled from Varanasi (Kasi). Yayati may have been 3 or 4 generations senior to Sri Rama. Perhaps a contemporary of Vasishtha. |

Senapathy:I want to why why MahaVishnu poked the eye of the acharya. Evarikanna more info telusaa about the rivalry.
actually its a big myth n mis understanding that acharyas eye was poked by lord vishnu....acharya lost that eye when he watched a live episode of genius without wearing protective glasses..he thought that his divine lineage is going to shield him from the insanity being shown on the screen...but guess wat...the insanity prevailed and acharya was able to close only one eye on time and he lost the other one...lord vishnu has nothing to do with it...infact vishnu used his influence and got a designer eye patch made for acharya by manmadhudu...manmadhudu in those days was like versace.... u know these things they dont want u to know in books..... |

Ee shukracharya guruvu character chala interesting gaa undi -------------- He was a Bhargava rishi of the Atharvan branch and a descendant of sage Kavi. The Devi-Bhagavata Purana refers to his mother as Kavyamata. The feminic natured Shukra is a Brahminical planet. He was born on Friday in the year Parthiva on Sraavana Suddha Ashtami when Svati Nakshatra is on the ascent. Hence, Friday is known as Shukravaar in Indian languages like Sanskrit, Telugu, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Oriya, Bengali, Assamese, and Kannada. He went on to study the Vedas under the rishi Angirasa but he was disturbed by Angirasa's favouritism for his son Brihaspati. He then went to study under rishi Gautama. He later performed penance to Lord Shiva and obtained the Sanjivani mantra (a formula that revived the dead). He married Priyavrata's daughter Urjaswathi and they had four sons — Chanda, Amarka, Tvastr, Dharaatra and a daughter by name Devayani. During this period Brihaspati became the Guru (Preceptor) of the Devas. Due to the hatred he bore towards Vishnu for what he perceived as the murder of his mother as she had given shelter to some asura whom Vishnu was hunting, Shukracharya decided to become the Guru of Asuras. He helped them achieve victory over the Devas and used his knowledge to revive the dead and wounded among them. The fact is that the Devas and Asuras were among two sections of Aryan kings and rishis out of which one section was worshiping deities called the Devas and the other, deities called the Asuras. Ushanas Shukra was the preceptor of the petty king Vrshaparvan, the leader of the section worshiping the Asuras. These Deva-Asura differences were aggravated to such an extent that at a later period, his descendants and followers had to leave Sapta Sindhu and settle elsewhere, probably in Iran. The priests of the Ahura-worshiping sect of Ahura Mazda of Iran are called atharvans. In one story, Lord Vishnu is born as the Brahmin dwarf-sage Vamana. Vamana comes to take the three worlds as alms from the asura king Bali. Lord Vishnu wanted to deceive the king Bali who was the grandson of the great king Prahlada, in order to help the Devas. The sage Shukracharya identifies him immediately and warns the King. The King is however a man of his word and offers the gift to Vamana. Shukracharya, annoyed with the pride of the king, shrinks himself with his powers and sits in the spout of the vase, from which water has to be poured to seal the promise to the deity in disguise. Lord Vishnu, in disguise of the dwarf, understands immediately, and picks a straw from the ground and directs it up the spout, poking out the left eye of Shukracharaya. Since this day on, the guru of the asuras has been known to be half blind. Devayani was the daughter of Shukracharya, who was rejected by the son of Brihaspati, Kacha. She later marries Yayati who founds the Kuru dynasty. In the time of the Mahabharata, Shukracharya is mentioned as one of the mentors of Bhishma, having taught him political science in his youth |

Missing part of Sharmishta and Devayani Rivalry ----- ONE warm afternoon, pleasantly tired with sporting in the woods Devayani and the daughters of Vrishaparva, king of the asuras, went to bathe in the cool waters of a sylvan pool, depositing their garlands on the bank before they entered its waters. A strong breeze blew their clothes together into a huddled heap and when they came to take them up again, some mistakes naturally occurred. It so happened that princess Sarmishtha, the daughter of the king, clad herself in Devayani's clothes. The latter was vexed and exclaimed half in jest at the impropriety of the daughter of a disciple wearing the clothes of the master's daughter. These words were spoken half in jest, but the princess Sarmishtha became very angry and said arrogantly: "Do you not know that your father humbly bows in reverence to my royal father every day? Are you not the daughter of a beggar who lives on my father's bounty? You forget I am of the royal race which proudly gives, while you come of a race which begs and receives, and you dare to speak thus to me." Sarmishtha went on, getting angrier and angrier as she spoke till, working herself up into a fit of anger, she finally slapped Devayani on the cheek and pushed her into a dry well. The asura maidens thought that Devayani had lost her life and returned to the palace. Devayani had not been killed by the fall into the well but was in a sad plight because she could not climb up the steep sides. Emperor Yayati of the Bharata race who was hunting in the forest by a happy chance came to this spot in search of water to slake his thirst. When he glanced into the well, he saw something bright, and looking closer, he was surprised to find a beautiful maiden lying in the well. He asked: "Who are you, O beautiful maiden with bright earrings and ruddy nails? Who is your father? What is your ancestry? How did you fall into the well?" She replied: "I am the daughter of Sukracharya. He does not know that I have fallen into the well. Lift me up" and she held forth her hands. Yayati seized her hand and helped her out of the well. Devayani did not wish to return to the capital of the king of the asuras. She did not feel it safe to go there, as she pondered again and again on Sarmishtha's conduct. She told Yayati: "You have held a maiden by her right hand, and you must marry her. I feel that you are in every way worthy to be my husband." Yayati replied: "Loving soul, I am a kshatriya and you are a brahmana maiden. How can I marry you? How can the daughter of Sukracharya, who is worthy to be the preceptor of the whole world, submit to be the wife of a kshatriya like myself? Revered lady, return home." Having said these words Yayati went back to his capital. A kshatriya maiden could marry a brahmana, according to the ancient tradition, but it was considered wrong for a brahmana maiden to marry a kshatriya. The important thing was to keep the racial status of women unlowered. Hence anuloma or the practice of marrying men of higher castes was legitimate and the reverse practice, known as pratiloma, i.e. marrying men of a lower caste, was prohibited by the sastras. Devayani had no mind to return home. She remained sunk in sorrow in the shade of a tree in forest. Sukracharya loved Devayani more than his life. After waiting long in vain for the return of his daughter who had gone to play with her companions, he sent a woman in search of her. The messenger after a weary search came on her at last near the tree where she was sitting in dejection, her eyes red with anger and grief. And she asked her what had happened. Devayani said: "Friend, go at once and tell my father that I will not set my foot in the capital of Vrishaparva" and she sent her back to Sukracharya. Extremely grieved at the sad plight of his daughter Sukracharya hurried to her. Caressing her, he said: "It is by their own actions, good or bad, that men are happy or miserable. The virtues or vices of others will not affect us in the least." With these words of wisdom, he tried to console her. |

Extension of the story - from Wiki ----- Yayati (Sanskrit: ययाति) was a Puranic king and the son of king Nahusha. He was a great scholar of Vedas. He had five brothers, Yati, Samyati, Ayati, Viyati and Kriti. He had two wives, Devyani and Sharmishtha. Devyani was the daughter of Shukracharya, the priest of Asuras (the demons). Sharmishtha was the daughter of the Demon King Vrishparva. Sharmishthe was a friend and servant of Devyani.[1][2] One day as Devyani and Sharmishtha along with the hoard of servants were amusing themselves in a park, King Yayati happened to pass by. Devyani had been secretly in love with Yayati as he had once rescued her from a dry well. Devyani and Sharmishtha introduced themselves to him and Devyani confessed to being in love with him and asked him to marry her. Yayati said, "Unless your father gives you to me in marriage I will not accept you as my wife." Shukracharya gave in to his daughter's request and agreed to give her away in marriage to King Yayati. As dowry he gave away Sharmishtha. He however warned Yayati that he should never let Sharmishtha share his bed. Sharmishtha was given a place to live in a shaded glade called Ashok Vatika. One day Yayati happened to pass by Ashok Vatika where Sharmishtha lived. Seeing him, Sharmishtha confessed that she too was in love with the king and wanted him to marry her. She told him that she belonged to a royal family and Yayati could marry her. Yayti agreed and they wed in secret. They continued to meet and hid the fact from Devyani that they were married. Yayati had two sons from Devyani – 1. Yadu and 2. Turvasu. Yayati also had three sons from Sharmishtha – 1. Druhyu 2. Anu and 3. Puru. When Devyani came to know about the relationship of Yayati and Sharmishtha and their three sons she felt shocked and betrayed. Devyani went away to her father's house. Shukracharya was displeased with the king, and cursed that he would lose his youth and become an old man immediately. As soon as Shukracharya uttered his curse Yayati became an old man. Shukracharya also said that his curse once uttered could not be taken back and added that the only concession he could give was that if Yayati wanted he could give his old age to someone and take their youth from them. Yayati was relieved at the reprieve he was given and confident that his sons would willingly exchange their youth with him. Yayati went back to his kingdom. Yayati requested all his five sons one by one to give their youth to him to enjoy the worldly happiness. All the sons except Puru rejected his demand. So Yayati took the youth of Puru. Puru became the successor of king Yayati. Later, Yayati realized the futility of his shallow actions, renounced the world and did immense penance to redeem himself and gain enlightenment. As a result of his endeavour, he attained enlightened, and won great admiration and respect of the Gods. |

Teliyani vallaki manchi story ------------ Devayani was the beautiful daughter of Shukracharya, preceptor of the Asuras, the Demons.Shukracharya knew the secret of Mritasanjivani that brings back to life the Asuras , killed in the war with the Devas, the Gods. The Devas and the Asuras fought all the time for the lordship of the three worlds. The Asuras were care free and happy because their preceptor Shukracharya knew the secret of Mritasanjivani. The Devas also wanted to know the secret of Mritasanjivani. So they went to Kacha, the handsome son of Brihaspati, and asked him to learn the secret of Mritasanjivani from Shukracharya. The obedient and dutiful Kacha set out to meet Shukracharya. He presented himself , introduced as the son of Brihaspati and sought to become Shukracharya's disciple. Shukracharya was a true teacher and so could recognise the brilliance of Kacha. He warmly welcomed him and accepted him as a disciple. Shukracharya introduced Kacha to Devayani as Kacha had vowed to be Shukracharya's student till the period of study was over.Kacha started living with the family of Shukracharya as per the tradition. Kacha developed a liking for Devayani and she was also drawn towards Kacha. As the years passed, The Asuras became suspicious of Kacha. They wanted to get rid of him One day as Kacha was attending to the cattle of Shukracharya, the Asuras fell over Kacha and slew him.To the great relief of Devayani,Kacha was brought back to life by Shukracharya. The love between Kacha and Devayani grew day by day. The Asuras were worried as they could guess that Kacha was there to learn the secret of Mritasanjivani. One day Devayani asked Kacha to bring a particular flower that grew in deep forest. The Asuras followed Kacha and killed him once again. This time his body was ground into a paste and dissolved in the water of the ocean. Shukracharya once again saved Kacha by his secret knowledge. The Asuras were puzzled as each time they killed Kacha he was saved by Shukracharya. They got the idea from their senior to kill Kacha. So next day when Kacha went out with the cattle they slew him again. This time they burnt his body, took the ashes, mixed with wine and offered it to Shukracharya.Shukracharya had a great weakness for wine , so he drank it, blessing the Asuras. Devayani knew what had happened by seeing the cattle return home without Kacha.Seeing Devayani's plight as she was in great agony, Shukracharya used his secret knowledge and called upon Kacha to come back to life .Kacha came back to life and spoke from inside the stomach of Shukracharya.Shukracharya cursed himself for drinking the wine given by the Asuras. He told that henceforth wine shall be forbidden for those engaged in spiritual pursuit. Shukracharya was in real dilemma. He could ask Kacha to come out but that would mean his own death. After long deliberation Shukracharya thought a way out.He knew now the real purpose of Kacha's visit. He told Kacha that there was only one way by which both of them can ensure Devayani's happiness.Shukracharya taught him the craft of Mritasanjivani.Kacha emerged from the dying body of Shukracharya and immediately brought his Guru back to life. When the Asuras came to offer wine to Shukracharya, he shouted," You fools, Kacha now knows my secret. But rest assured Kacha will continue to live with me because of the love for Devayani." But Shukracharya was sadly disappointed when he learnt that although Kacha deeply loved Devayani, he has to fulfil his duties towards the Devas. On the last day of his studies Kacha went to Shukracharya for his blessings.Devayani waited for Kacha to propose marriage.Devayani pleaded Kacha to take her as his wife. But Kacha replied, " I was born from your father's stomach.I am, therefore ,your brother.I can't marry you." The heart- broken Devayani accused Kacha of using her to attain his goal.Devayani cursed Kacha, " You will never be able to use the craft of Mritasanjivani to save yourself." Kacha replied,"Devayani it is wrong to curse me as I have saved your father. There is no doubt that my love was sincere and faithful. But I have my duty to perform towards my people. Because of your unfairness , I am cursing you that no Rishi's son will ever marry you.I may still teach the craft of Mritasanjivani to others even though I may not be able to use it to myself." Saying that Kacha departed for the abode of Indra, King of the Devas. With the passage of time Devayani completely forgot Kacha. She got married to Yayati, a Kshatriya later. |
