Bushu:why is having a kid not a proud moment? If you look at all the couples that 'struggle' to have a child, you would really appreciate the gift you have and you should be proud of yourself for giving birth to a healthy child.
You nailed it - it is a "gift"  And somehow I feel I need to earn something to be proud of it - it may be a difference in perspectives.
On the other hand I earned my first job offer before I got my final year results - to me that was huge - cos my parents had both struggled a lot economically to support their respective families, and to give us a good education - chadivi , top chesi, job offer vachina roju I was able to live up to my Dad's conviction his daughter is no less than a son and my mom's confidence in me Aa taravata chala acheivements unnayi - but aa high veru
