Diam M for murder - Saw sometime last year. I didn't like it much.

RAN - Good one. But too slow... climax fight terrific.

Tengoku to Jigoku movie baguntadi... crime movie...

I didnt see this one .... few years back barnes n nobles lo kurosowa all collection orcer chesthey ran, roshomom, seven samurai, red beard, dreams icchadu packet lo....missed other oness...
for me roshomon is his best work...was reading about kurosowas camera man...he shot almost all his movies...he n kurosowa r like satyajit ray n subrata mitra... he was telling about how kurosowa shot in those dense woods n still managed to get enough light with the help of reflections from mirrors...and also the rain sequences...and above all the content....the narration from perspectives....wats good wats bad....the movie world was stunned when it came out at that time as they freaked out to find someone whose technical acumen are flawless and who is also a great philosopher...
dude was always depressed....shared a pessimistic life about life...tries suicide couple of times too....
And from that era Polanski can also be added to that list....his old black n white flicks are pure classics

B4 u start watching these two u need to understand their movies are not crowd pleasers like hitchkoks..
their movies mostly mock or comment or make statements on social issues...

Roshomon(one of the most powerful movies of all time...raavan same type lo approach avvaboi iyyi mani borla paddadu)

RAN (kurosowas vision of shakesperes king lear....its the most visually brilliant one of all kurosowas flicks...)

Inga STanley kubrick list lo

Dr strangelove (kubrick mocking the dumb leaders of two most powerful nations US and USSR dduring cold war...if ur aware of the political situation then this movie will cack u up)

Shining (horror genre in kubrick style...must watch)

Full metal jacket (kubricks take on vietnam war...)

Eyes wide shut (most erotic movie ever made)

hitchcock is overrated....except rear window I didnt like any of his movies...rear window kooda very predictable but i liked the premise n set designs n screenplay....vertigo was good too...but rest junk may be it was good for that era...
i still feel kubrick n kurosawa are the only two dirs from B&W era who had the vision n narration to challenge the new age filmmakers who have better eqipment at their disposal

hitchcock is more a script oriented guy. kubrick, kurosawa are true masters of all the crafts in movie making.

btw Birds by hitchcock is a pretty good achievement without graphics anipisthadhi.
