LOVE AAJ KAL seems to be "inspired" , as we know what that means, from a Taiwenese film, HAO DE SHI GUANG (Three Times). In THREE TIMES - The movie starts in 1911 then moves to 1966 and eventually culminates in 2005. The story of THREE TIMES runs in three phases. It features three chronologically separate stories of love between the two protagonists, in the first two stories, letters are crucial to the outcome; in the third, it is cell phone calls, text messages, and a computer file. Over the years between the tales, as sexual intimacy becomes more likely and words more free, communication recedes. | ||

In Love Aaj Kal (Hindi, 2009), a crucial element is Saif Ali Khan enacting the role of young Rishi Kapoor when the latter narrates his love story. That means when Rishi narrates his own love story, instead of he playing the young role, Saif does it. This angle and scenes have now been used in Siddharth’s Baava that is releasing on October 29, sources told us. According to the sources, in Baava , Rajendra Prasad plays the role of father to Siddhu. In post interval, Rajendra Prasad narrates his love story, so the director has employed the same narrative device that was used in Love Aaj Kal. Meaning, Siddhu portrayed the young Rajendra Prasad and romances in that episode with Sindhu Tolani. Copying this from Love Aaj Kal itself is a bad thing but apart from that the movie is now officially being remade with Pawan Kalyan. So when Baava uses this angle, the novelty factor wanes off when Pawan Kalyan movie releases.
