In Picasso's own words "It isnt up to the painter to define the symbols. Otherwise it would be better if he wrote them out in so many words! The public who look at the picture must interpret the symbols as they understand them.

Twitter,

Let's say someone went to ARR's concert or SPB's concert and came back saying anni aravam paatale padaru, it wasn't worth it. Would you listen to them and not go or would you go b'coz you want to experience the music of ARR even if you don't get tamil?

It's the same thing with painting imHo. You won't understand all of them, but the chances are you will get some of them. Picasso's paintings from his blue and rose periods look *normal*. Laters ones - not so much.

In Picasso's own words "It isnât up to the painter to define the symbols. Otherwise it would be better if he wrote them out in so many words! The public who look at the picture must interpret the symbols as they understand them.â

Few years ago I read a childrens book on Picasso. That's what got me interested in paintings and painters in general. Simple beginings ani kavi bhavam.

If you are interested here is a great piece from "conversation with picasso"

If you are a painter, like going to museums, this is your chance. This is the only museum in VA that will be showing Picasso's works.

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond just announced what it is calling "the most important exhibition in its history," a touring show called "Picasso: Masterpieces from the Musée National Picasso, Paris," on view from Feb. 19 through May 15. The VMFA will be this show's only East Coast stop -- it opens in Seattle this week.
