Sharma, one of the judges who passed the Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit verdict, said on Friday. "The conclusion was drawn as per the faith of people and circumstantial evidence. I dealt with the evidence in detail," Justice Sharma told Headlines Today in an exclusive interview on his retirement day. "The knowledge (about Ram's birthplace) was acquired from time immemorial through our ancestors and as per people's belief," he said. Justice Sharma said he "weighed the evidence in accordance of law". "I have delivered the judgement to the best of my ability, having put in 38 years in service," he said. The Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid title suit verdict was given on Thursday by the Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court. Asked about the views of Justices S.U. Khan and Sudhir Agarwal, the other two judges, Justice Sharma said: "I don't know how the evidence was read by the other two judges. They are both competent. I have not read their judgements." He described the title suit verdict as historic. "I am happy and delighted to have delivered it," he said.
