certain silly things happen in life for very good reasons. The rift between nayyar and lata is one of those things. During recording of a song, apparently nayyar yelled at a musician guy for not playing a note right and he used profanity which was heard by lata and there it is, the ego clash ! Yepp, they are the ones who introduced the western concept of multiphonic sounds to India. No one after them attempted it, except for Ilayaraja. In shankar jaikishan duo, shankar was the actual composer of many songs and jaikishen was merely a conductor and they used to differ a lot, and once they even once punched each other.
