Kalikaalam i know banks in US sends 1099-INT but my CPA talks about accounts in india which i need to report to IRS(not tax filing),dead line to report about this accounts is i think june. any idea. | ||

Emc2, If you are a US resident, you need to report your NRE/NRI account balances to IRS. Usually, the banks send 1099-INT form. That means, they already reported to IRS. You can not escape from reporting to IRS. Even if you did not receve 1099-INT and if you have some interest on those deposits, you need to report to IRS. Your interest income is subject to taxation and not your deposits. | ||
