What really makes a movie hit? 1) One should know how to extract the best from the actor /actress. 2) Team work. 3) Putting all the aspects together in a presentable way makes a movie hit. Like-wise, if you pull people from various newspapers that is not sufficient for success. There are several aspects of the industry that need to be properly managed and co-ordinated. Above all, DOMAIN knowledge of the industry is important to reap success. | ||

Chantodu: Overall, gaa SAKSHI present status: Vaartha ki yekkuva, AJ ki takkuva..... We really have to wait and watch for at least 3 months to see how it fares in the near future. NET EDITION: NET edition of SAKSHI was ugly on the first day. How ever, they rectified several technical problems within 24 hours. But, bringing a sea change in terms of CONTENT and PRESENTATION is task which takes long time and requires great brains (not Jagan's brain) to work on this with lots of committment and passion. | ||

Good, Bad and Ugly:: 1) Competition brings several things such as quality, responsibility, customer service etc. into the industry. In this context, moving towards competition in print media is a welcome change. However, if it turns into UNHEALTHY competition by way of gossipping, it does more bad than good. 2)Sakshi made a modest beginning by entering into print media. As far as the print version is concerned, it is mostly agreed that it is upto the mark. Many expected that SAAKSHI would be extra-ordinary in its content and design, given their homework, financial muscle and advantage of being in power. a) As far as DESIGN is concerned, it is average and in fact good. Definitely, it was not an extra-ordinary design or an innovative one. Sakshi beats Vaartha, AJ and all other newspapers except Eenadu in terms of DESIGN. b) As far as the CONTENT is concerned, it is below-average. Most pages are overspread with photoes than the actual content. There is tremendous scope and space for SAKSHI to improve in this direction. At present, I would say that even AJ seem to be better than Sakshi in terms of CONTENT. 3) PRESENTATION: Most newspapers get same information from various news bureaus and through their news agents (journalists). What makes them distinct from each other is the way in which they present the same information. Eenadu had already set a TREND in this direction. THIS is the most imporatnt varaible that contributes to market share in readership and circulation. Most importantly, it creates captive readers over time. As far as presentation is concerned, there is a huge gap between eenadu and sakshi, the former being the leader. 4) BIAS When there was a tremendous scope for a newspaper to flourish by giving the most impartial news, SAKSHI seem to be not exploiting this area. We all know that YSR used to get irritated on EENADU cartoons. If SAKSHI is so concerned about this aspect, they need to set a new standard in the arena of cartoons. But, SAKSHI seem to attack TDP from day one through their cartoons. Such a BIAS and their political agenda is also reflected in the presentation of it's news also. In other words, SAKSHI is no different in terms of its BIAS by serving a political party's interests. 5) Film Section: In all, Sakshi allocated 3 pages for film section. I feel that it would be rather difficult for them to fill these pages with some good content in the long run without spreading these pages with large size sizzling photoes. This analogy applies to other sections also. |
