SO there are many disadvantages... so better to always have INDIA c.z.ship It's not a feasible option. Say if you live in US that's ok. But you want to move back and stay there in India while still keeping the option of coming back to US, you can't do that without getting American citizenship otherwise you will forfeit a hard earned G.C. I don't think there are that many disadvantages of OCI card vis a vis Indian Citizenship | ||

PIO card US lo puttina kids ki estunnaru,2 yrs back vallaki kooda OCI echaru,but later they changed that rule. US lo puttina kids parents still IND citizens ayuthe, their kids will get ONLY PIO. parents eddaru (Father/Mother) kooda US citizens ayuthe,appudu kid/parents will get OCI. | ||

US lo obviously no restrictions except you can't be 1)President 2)Vice President unless you are born here. >>>> okatelugodu, you are right. On the other hand, if we are born Indian citizens, then in future, if anyone wants to contest the elections in India, getting back the indian citizenship is not a big deal. If you stay 2 years in India, you can apply again to get the indian citizenship back. | ||

BI , Any specific link about your statement that India doesn't recognize dual citizenship!! When India announced about 2+ years back I took my OCI. Now I have a life long VISA stamp on my CAN PP, you will get OCI card as well, its looks like PIO card. Not worried about other catches OCI might have. | ||

Pio card mida voting,election lo nilabadadam , astulu kondam.. Astulu ante residential land, land for industrial use, commericial and residential buildings konachu. You can't buy agricultural land. | ||

America doesn't recognize dual citizenship even though India recognizes Idem fitting. US always had the concept of dual citizenship. India recently introduced OCI(Overseas citizen of India) concept which is almost like dual citizenship | ||
