Attorney's response on this: You can work for any employer using an EAD card. However, you have to continue with your primary occupation in the IT field. Otherwise, your AOS application may not be approved. After you use your EAD card to work for another employer other than your H-1B employer, you will no longer be in H-1B status. In order to get back into H-1B status, you would have to travel internationally and then reenter the US using a valid H-1B visa. | ||

Chirutha_Puli, EAD pettukuni if you work for yourself, they it mean literally u are sponsoring your own GC(with AC21). There might be problems with that. | ||

1)can we start a small scale business(LLC) on EAD? Even a forieng national can start an LLC. Daaniki EAD kooda avasaram ledu 2)Can we work for the same company? You can't work for the same company. Koncham problem unless you have G.C 3)Can we convert back to H1-B(Which is valid upto 2010) if needed from EAD? No | ||

i just found this info from murthy forum..... Chat User : Can a person start a business with an EAD? Attorney Murthy : Yes, generally a person may start a business or perform any other work on the EAD since usually there are no restrictions on the EAD except for its validity dates. Of course, if the person starting the business is the employee being sponsored for the GC, then there are certain conditions to be fulfilled in order to obtain the GC approval under AC21 portability provisions. | ||
