Doctors naaku peddaga nachaledu ....But Love Story is in a class of its own - a very short book max couple of hours read but delivers a knockout punch 
Irwing Wallace "the Prize" was a good one on how the Nobel prize process works -that's been made into a movie I think ...
Okappudu unexpected ga 6 months freetime dorikindi - VJA lo Prabodha Book Store/Library lo unna fiction collection anta chadiva Came across some wonderful books from unknown authors in that time
My fav spot in VJA - Wonderful, idyllic location with lots of trees and huge courtyard - sunsets filled with the chirping of birds...must've been replaced with apartments by now

If you are looking for that category - I prefer Jeffrey Archer anyday -Not a penny more, not a penny less(already cheppanu), Kane and Abel, Prodigal Daughter(sequel to Kane and Abel),Shall we tell the president ?
Love stories ante nothing can beat "THE" Love Story by Erich Segal...
One book I really liked was Speedpost by Shobha De... Its a collection of her letters to her children

Somehow I felt sidney uses the same way of narration for introducing people/places??? I may be wrong also becs so far I read only sidney books...inka evaridhi ayena try chesthe may be I can compare 2 narrations.

Avarana - waiting eagerly for the english translation Touted as the literary sensation of the year, multiple reprints and controversies I think ..
Vamsavriksham is very good , do read it ...would be interested in knowing your take on it ... cos mine was very different from the way some others interpreted the book

More than the theme , its the treatment which is very similar - view from the inside, their perception of their world ...not how the external world sees them
And Bel Canto - reminded me of the discussion in IBDB on Nishant with Nihil, you and a few others...different context in the book but similar behavior of people deprived of their freedom ...chadavandi - it is actually good movie material I think ...
