Gilead Sciences (GILD) has continues to strike back at after Express Scripts (ESRX) made AbbVie’s (ABBV) hepatitis-C drug its treatment of choice.
Today, Aetna, the third-largest U.S. health insurer, said it has negotiated a discount with Gilead for its hepatitis C treatment and will offer it as the preferred choice to its nearly 20 million commercial customers. The news follows a string of deals cut by Gilead with insurers and PBMs. Earlier this week, health insurer Humana (HUM) said it has inked a pricing agreement with the drug maker, while earlier this month, Gilead Sciences announced deals with CVS (CVS) and health-insurer Anthem (ANTM). |

Google Inc (GOOGL.O) is in talks to buy mobile-payments company Softcard, technology news website TechCrunch reported on Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The deal could help pair Google with the largest U.S. wireless carriers to battle Apple Inc (AAPL.O) and its new Apple Pay service, TechCrunch wrote.
The deal may be valued below $100 million, the report said citing sources. (http://tcrn.ch/1xc2Gsg)
Softcard is jointly owned by AT&T Inc (T.N), Verizon Communication Inc's (VZ.N) Verizon Wireless Inc and T-Mobile US Inc (TMUS.N).
Google was not immediately available for comment outside regular U.S. business hours.
