Big Island and Maui.
Big Island has so much more to do than Maui. Also, homeless problem is less than Maui.

explorers try going far NE, Nova Scotia, there is a Warald Famous Trail "Cabot Trail" and lots of activities (water falls, trails, horse riding, boat tours, etc) around. Sun set on the trail is excellent. You can also see Graham Bells home (now converted to museum)

CT-Toronto-Edmonton-Calgary while going and Calgary-Montreal-Detroit-CT on way back. If Montreal is closer (for us about 6 hours one way) then it makes sense to drive to Montreal and fly from there to Calgary.

We usually have good brunch (9-10 am) before heading to the parks. And make sure we have plenty of fruits and snacks for later in the day.

I second it.. wonderful place.. Visited in July for 7 days.. stayed 3 days in Banff and 3 days in Jasper, 1 day in travel.. Very scenic, cloudy weather made it even serene. Moraine lake and Athabasca glaciers are are our favorites. Fortunate to see lot of wild life.. bear sighting for atleast 10 times in parks around Jasper. It was right next to the car on 2 occasions, never saw that close. Good place, totally worth it if weather is good.

It's been long pending trip and finally happened this August for about 9 days (including travel). In one sentence one of the best and most suggested place to visit and stay. Covered four National parks Banff, Jasper, Kootenay and Yoho, (of course not in full) with important Lakes, Water Falls, Ice Glaciers, River(s), Mountains, Trecks, Hikes along with Calgary, Canmore, Banff and Jasper towns. Last but not least good food (Indian and other) in Calgary, Canmore, Banff. Rain god blessed us with no rain during our activity times though he came down in early morning or later in the evening.

Travel time and money could have been saved if planned very well anipinchindi as it was almost full day travel both ways. CT-Toronto-Edmonton-Calgary while going and Calgary-Montreal-Detroit-CT on way back. If Montreal is closer (for us about 6 hours one way) then it makes sense to drive to Montreal and fly from there to Calgary.

We booked a home in Calgary for 8 nights but stayed in Banff and in Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise one night each (this was a surprise gift to me as I would have said NO since it's about $750 per night) due to scenic. Calgary to Jasper is longest drive which is about 4 plus hours so we stayed in Banff to save some time. If planned well then one can stay in Canmore, Banff to save time for travel.

One of the best experiences is the walk, trecking and drive (in special bus) to Ice Glaciers and spending time there for about an hour during Sun set time and Sky walk. Absolute beautiful Emerald Lake and Lake Louise along with few others. No words to describe the scenic beauty and natural water falls and the drive of course. Three families and took one van and a Jeep so it was totally rachcha rambola..

Go for it.
