Did anyone explored Snowflake Cloud Database, which can support both relational and non-relational (like json, xml, S3 files etc) and provide unlimited storage and OnDemand processing power with few clicks? No need of tuning and lot of DBA tasks too. if this kind of data bases are evolving what is the use of Hadoop which is just for storage of data for Data Lake and future Data science needs, and retrieval isn't that easy.. we need tons of tools to access and process data. If all this is available through one platform why people choose these ? | ||

My opinion, it’s difficult to cost control (vendor locking between aws/azure) first few years of the cloud migration, companies eventually settled into hybrid. Not all companies sustain like Netflix with 100% cloud. Banks adopted private cloud (openstack etc..), they are providing VMs in hours where teams need immediately. So public cloud, private cloud and on-prim bare metal, it’s better to distribute application | ||

Cloudera’s future depends on their next product CDP releasing on end of August. Hadoop is not dead, only Hadoop vendors has problems, MapR dead, Cloudera has not seeing the future bright. There are thousands of Hadoop installations, they cannot just move to Cloud. As said that Public Cloud: HDFS replaced with Object stores, YARN will be replaced by Kubernetes. Hybrid Cloud:???? This is where Cloudera focusing on with CDP On-Prem Hadoop still stay | ||
