Airlines, both domestic and International, have this program. Some airlines for domestic travel charge you but some airlines for international travel also wont charge you anything. | ||

Reached Safe. Who: My daughter (7 yrs). Came out happy and excited. Air India. Washington DC (22nd May) - Delhi - Hyderabad No communication whatsoever from going with flight crew at gate in IAD to collecting baggage at HYD. Both parents were allowed to go till the gate. Documents: Air India specific doc with information of child, parents and the person who receives the kid. Passport copies of both the parents. As per AI rule, you have to submit the docs at the closet AI office at least 3 days prior to departure. But not really needed as per airport personnel. Go straight to the airport on the day of departure with the docs. But we did go to the airport 2 times before the day of departure just to make sure everything is ok. Ticket has to be an ADULT fare. Not a child ticket. It can be bought in any way convenient to you. As we cant buy a single ticket for minor online, we approached AI manager at IAD, who quoted $1450, and a travel agent, who quoted $1350, both for a price of $1100 which we could see online. As per my daughter, to the little info she gave, everything is fine. Airhostess and others have treated her good. One of the air hostess, who is helping her, talked to her in telugu. They called my parents when they are collecting baggage at HYD if they have arrived to collect the kid. We were tensed initially as everyone, including all the AI personnel at IAD, were surprised that we were sending her alone. But now we are confident that this service can be availed with peace in future also. |
