there are chances that you can get some cracks....the reasons for cracks can be any of the following 1. Masonry inefficiency: masons being new to them will not fill the entire joint between blocks with cement-sand mortar or the jointing mortar which is available with the block manufacturers. If there is a airpocket left in those joints, columns or beam and blocks where we have to fill, at a later time due to external temperature variances the blocks being aerative in nature with small air pockets they bulge up which effects in a crack...but this won't happen Everytime...if we use the right mix of cement and sand mortar we can arrest them...also we need to check for the small stones(pebbles) that come with the sand.. 2. Rising cracks: they are due to cheap and inferior quality of the blocks...always choose grade I or II quality bricks with compressive strength of 4 or higher...the less strength in it the block is prone to cracking if we are going for a multilevel construction... If we pass a summer with tiny small scar kinda cracks assume that it is because of masonry inefficiency. Our first construction a agricultural Warehouse developed some cracks we treated it with Asian crack fix and Dr fixit water proofing liquid...this was two years ago no complaints until now....our second survived a summer and not had any cracks barring some tiny hairline things which we closed with wall care putty. With redbricks at 7-8 RS a brick it is cheaper and can use less work force with lot of savings by going with AAC....but there are downsides too..if you are using it for residential construction you need to remind the buyers that they have to drill nails not to hammer..and also have to use angle grinder for electrical piping and plumbing. Else everything is good.... | ||

There are reviews that there are high chances of cracks in some AAC bricks... Except this, there seem to be many advantages using AAC. Kindly throw some light on the technical aspects, especially comparing it to Solid Cement Bricks. | ||

you can have blocks of different sizes 2 foot length is common.... 2,4,6,8,9 width inch are common sizes, external can be 9 inch ones... internal you can go for 4 inch or 6 inch deeding upon the construction you can also go for the custom sizes like 5 inch if you want. i will also not recommend NCL.... Aerocon from chennai is a good brand(birla)... we have completed two projects using AAC... if you have any queries you can PM me... | ||
