Apply for OCI and in case you do not recieve it in time , apply for eVisa, which will be granted within 48 hrs. The One and Only Veturi | ||

i just did it ( from canada) applied pp surrender + oci on dec 15. received oci on jan 26. you can apply oci.. if it doesnt come 5 days before your trip, apply for e-visa which takes max 48 hrs. | ||

Canceling indian PP took 2 months. US passport 2 weeks. Indian Evisa took 2 days. After oath you are looking at 3 months gap. With out renouncing 1 time is fine antaaru but not sure | ||

I travelled to India just like in this situation in December I applied to OCI in November after surrendering indian passport For UK OCI process is 2 step, 1st submit all documents and when status updates to OCI issued go to VFS and submit US/UK passport and then OCI and your passport will come back to your address after a week. I would recommend not to apply for OCI before your trip, you can submit Indian passport no issue with that. When I travelled to India naa OCI process 1st step complete aiponattundhi which I did not check. India POE and exit lo konchum hadavidi chesaaru that meeku OCI issue ainattu system chuupisthundhi ani. You can travel to India fine with just e-visa no need to take PP surrender certificate Also India exit ayyetappudu e-visa Malli check chesthaaru, don’t repeat my mistake of chucking it after POE, konchum hadavidi chesthaaru e-visa lekapothe Uk lo eppudu immigration easy, India and US lo ne extra cuttings | ||

I took 10 yr Indian visa..less documentation.. comes in 1-2 weeks. Apply for Indian visa renounciation at the same time. My wife applied for Citizen ship and she will be taking oath in Feb, and apply PP then and there, in most probable cases will get US PP by End of Feb we are planning to Visit INDIA in summer. what are the best option 1. if OCI is applied with PP surrender process it may take 3 months from Feb, cutting in to May 2. e-visa is an option https://indianvisaonline.gov.in/evisa/tvoa.html which gives 60 days Travel Visa 3. Also do we need to surrender Indian PP and get certificate before travelling India or can do that after reaching India. will it be a problem travelling to India with out surrendering PP, but go on e-Visa ? |
