Sati was not practiced much in India. Widow remarriages did happen here and there in ancient India [referring to Gurajada appa rao gari book about mantras and their meaning that were chanted when a woman's husband dies]. after peaceful invasions 900 years ago, single woman were difficult to protect. women abduction jihad was more prominent. To avoid such things, few practiced sati. Britishers abolished it | ||
