LIC policies are good for agents not for policyholders.. Govt. abuses LIC wealth by asking them to invest into other PSUs. Govt. will pocket money via this disinvestment route. true.. but 90 percent of these total outstanding lic policies are endowment type(insurance+investment). they give paltry returns(5-6%).. when it comes to term insurance LIC charges 50 percent more than private insurance companies. for e.g lic term insurance of 1 crore for 30 years old cost around 16-17k.. private insurance companies like MAX life costs you 10-11k. so do you want to pay50 percent more premium for slightly better claims settlement ratio ? ee desa charitra choosina emunnadi garva karanam, Nara jaathi charitra samstam , parapeedana parayanatvaM | ||

I know you are asking for Insurance buying in India but if there is any chance to buy from USA, it would be much cheaper(but the insurer should be a US living person, not required to be on Green Card/Citizen though. Also the person doesnt require to live in US all the years of coverage. | ||
