yeah..watched it a long ago.. cudnt list all the scenes, ee scene kooda well done.. also, BGM is excellent - Karuppu velai okka song ki, "ta ra ra ra" ee bit ni marchi marchi all emotions ki vadesaru..  wafer thin, routine story line but well made movie ki ide example.. i guess tamil loud-gory-psycho kind of movies ki offbeat vachindi, dont think it did well at BO.. brahma satyam jagan-mithyä jivo brahmaiva näparah | ||

it was the more subdued scenes that stood out for me - like the tough mask slipping off his face as he talks to Vikram’s wife about why her ...the man is an explosive actor

Havent seen 96 yet.. but VV is very good.. good part of Sethupathi's action .. is thru his body lang, eyes.. transformation from clean shaven VS who was cunning, desperate to be gangster => final Betaal who speaks less, and has completely thought through.. over-the-top dialogues undav, intentionally, and the highlights of his acting are mostly the confrontation scenes - intro Mumbai beach side .. pre-climax long shot scene pre-climax when his dost sacrifices life movie ki main USP story,screenplay,direction, cast & acting in same decreasing order.. modern day ki adaption of old classic, and attention to details : indulo start lone Betal himself goes to Vikram, unlike the original VS rotte mukka throwing to Police dog ( metaphor ) Lots of scenes, VS emotions hide cheyadam, especially talkign less when he is grown up with beard In all confrontation scenes, there is a physical LINE between them last lo distinct laugh by Betaal, as in the cartoon, so I assume, Betaal flies away escaping Vikram.. brahma satyam jagan-mithyä jivo brahmaiva näparah | ||

Lol - mee thread choosaka searched for the movie and watched it over thanksgiving ... loved the movie, so thank you ! I had to watch the Hindi dub as I could not find a subtitled one - dubbing was awful  Where can I get the Tamil subtitled one - would like to watch that ! Yes movie marathon today and this is my 3rd movie. Morning 96 thread lo andaru recommened this movie so started watching in tamil but ST choosey sariki emotion miss avuthundhi ani hindi dubbing dhi choosa. Dubbing was loud so little bit emotion ayethe missed it. Liked the screenplay and how the director narrated and unfolded the layers of the story. I wasnt able to fully connect to Vijay sethupathi acting..few subtle expressions good but cant pick a single scene where his acting was great like everyone said. Take Jagapathi babu in Anthapuram...and station scene...Not sure if that is because of loud dubbing. and I felt he is heavier version of danush? Madhavan was OK. Rest all did their part. To me Vikram vedha is all about director and screenplay. |
