Vikram and bethal stories back drop is about moral and ethical conundrums. What is right and what is wrong.. it is not as it appears... The story of this movie has several parallels to the original tale. In this movie there are several incidents that have similar conundrums to do with right and wrong!! Madhavan as Vikram is smart one so he understands the complexity of the situation and looks beyond the 'black and whiteness' of it. Every time he answers, Veda (as bethal) flys (escapes) away.. his final story stumps vikraM so betal comes with him however he reveals a bigger secret. Now it is about how vikram understands betal was being made sacrificial lamb and how he can get out to that situation!! Same thing happens in this movie The tale was excellently adapted to the story. That is the beauty of this movie.. thanks to some friend on this board who gave Hindi link .. I finally undestood the movie  I like such intelligent movies which make these connections... best of the lot is always 'seven' | ||

i guess you are asking how it relates to the movie - ee movie entire theme ade.. Vikram(Vikram) & Betal ( Veda ) Tamil names.. Without going too much into the background of Vikramaditya & Betal - Betal tries to ensure Vikram is the best of the lots, tests laga pedatadu .. He narrates one story at a time with underlying theme and a question - giving the message that real life decisions are never Black&White.. it requires wisdom,intellect etc all qualities.. ee movie story koda ante.. awesome movie .. simple story, non-linear narration, music + bgm very good, excellent acting.. Vikram-Betal my childhood favorite... ee movie potrayed well.
