The answer is Prime membership. Shows like this attract more people to Amazon's prime membership. Once you have this membership, you tend to buy more stuff from Amazon.com. That's how they make money. Everything Amazon does is to increase sales on Amazon.com (not talking about AWS here). Likewise, everything Google does is to increase its search/ad revenue.
