The only times they can influence is when there is no clear majority in either of the candidates(Obama vs Hillary). Even if this was the case before 2016 convention, Hillary would win nomination .. she got clear majority over Bernie in pledged delegates !! Btw, the change is only taking away superdelegates from primary ballot. This is where I was alluding , superdelegates never picked a candidate in convention .. idhi appudhu jaragaledhu.. just losing side blame anthe.. Also the biggest challenge after contest primaries is healing the wounds.. this is where superdelegates were very useful.( this is the reason republican primaries close the race very early within 10-15 staes) .. 2008 lo hillary and her campaign went heart and soul to Obama. 2016 koncham heart loopinchindi .. exact similar scenarios... but Adhi paristhithi.. Anyways, other changes are pretty decent. So overall may have positive impact . Superdelegates still have a say in secondary ballot. Other than being symbolic , it may not be much of a change.. now the candidate has to commit to democratic party.. let's seee what Bernie does. | ||

It is not the final tally .. going in to a race with super delegate advantage is a big big moral boost to a candidate ... that will definitely influence elections or caucus | ||

What is the final tally of Obama and Hillary without superdelegates ?? The purpose of superdelegates is not to get party hijacked by populism but keep it in line with principle!
