Gulabi:

1. 1099 from client - Do we need to file taxes in India as living in India?

1) File taxes in India, pay taxes full.
2) File taxes in US and get the same amount (that you paid tax in India) tax credit in US tax filings.

Gulabi:

2. Register a company (not sure what type) in India and draw salary. The clinet is invoiced through the company.

Doola teeripovochu.. you may need to get RBI approval etc as its FDI etc..(I am not very clear but not easy with International Clients.

Gulabi:

3. Register company in US and India

Register a company in US, transfer money to India.

Gulabi:

If US citizen is living in India and have an offer from US company to work remotely (not fulltime), what kind of payments are better by considering both US and India taxes?

Some options I think of -

1. 1099 from client - Do we need to file taxes in India as living in India?

2. Register a company (not sure what type) in India and draw salary. The clinet is invoiced through the company.

3. Register company in US and India

4. Other?

Any suggestions?

Now US and India have double taxation treaty.
So US/Indian citizens will not end up in paying double taxes.US Citizen has to pay taxes on worldwide income even if he does not stay or work in US.If he has already paid taxes on Indian income,he may have to pay the tax difference of US Taxes (if any applies)
