Every Career Oriented Person should have two resumes. One in Paper format - Word or PDF. Another is LinkedIn Profile. There should be similarities, resemblances, but both should not be the exact same. Coursera, Cloudera Certifications on LinkedIn profiles will get Recruiters to flood your LinkedIn Inbox with plenty of opportunities. Paper Format resume should be a 2 page summary of your abilities, not roles, not responsibilities, not junk to fill it up to 6 pages. Forget about coursera, 90% of Indian Universities certificates are worth the paper in US. I don't remember any employer has see my certificates or hiring decision is based on the certificates.They even cared to ask info about my university/Colleges (except sometimes HRs asking for a copies for formalities/records/BG checks) | ||

Not sure about Corusera but Cloudera certification does. When I brought my relative from India on H1, it worked like a catalyst. He was non-java back in India(working for 12 years by that time), while there was a delay in his H1 approval, I have advised him to do Java certification and cloudera Hadoop certification. He is like a college student while he is working(with the enthu of studies). He has done both of them, Up on arrival to US, I was able to place him for close to $100 bill rate without much waiting. It really helped him to showcase like a THOPU. But now He is really THRUMU now of course. Not sure how does coursera certification differs. My Splunk certification didnt add any value so far. | ||

If in my cv I write I know something.... And as a proof if I show coursea certificate....does people acknowledge?? Does my inclusion in cv hold grow??? I’m asking this as most people here are recruiters at some point.... man in love. |
