What is currency...... Medium of exchange for goods and services....... Gold served as this exchange for millennia due to its luster durability and relative scarcity ....it would take almost same amount to mine and distribute it as its value...... Then debasing etc phenomena are done for centuries....making inflation and other macroeconomic crisis...... Finally we went out of gold standard after WW2 due to Marshall plan and by 1970s it’s dollar mostly.... The intrinsic value of dollar and gold are inversely proportional ....... Beware guys..... I had gone through some reports and found that almost 65-70% of usage is in illicit activities.... Money is a traceable form of exchange.... but cryptos are not....making them perfect for these activities in future.....of course it will end up with regulation by government naturally...as govts are bound to control drugs and other illicit activities....
