It could be that they probably thought you guys are Muslims. That could be the reason for ham. They can't differentiate us. I heard so many cases like this. More recently the racism has turned to gold robbery on asian population there.

in one way i like Germany more than the Netherlands as its the hotbed of all ideologies....ranging from far left to far right.....it gave communism which is far left it also gave national socialism which is far right..... also, old school germans are the best...not the new gen. the only thing you need is to learn german....you can pretty much live without hassles without all life....but its a socialist country...pay will be very less...you cant work overtime and ask for extra pay....you must take mandatory holidays....as in your place they provide employment for other.... its like this in a year during if American works x hours german works at max 2/3 x..and max pay will also be very less dont even expect 100 dollar/hour pays...my friend got around 600 dollar per day gross...but after all deductions she got 320 on hand....and her monthly days are limited to 19-20.. so its kinda tricky thing for high paid jobs....even though you work 60/70 hours you are paid just for 35-40 hours a week... missiles love. In Germany I kinda do reverse..... I generally don’t like to sit besides them as I know from most of my friends that they shower once every 2/3 days.... So I don’t prefer to sit besides anyone and mostly sit for my own..... But when some African friends complain about anyone not sitting beside them I feel funny missiles love. I had an experience one year back..... Me and my friend went to a night club in Düsseldorf....we are in Bahnhof waiting for train...... My friend is drunk while I’m just having fun talking loud with him and other in phone suddenly guy came said something I thought he said hi and replied same...he went away..... Last weekend had a brush with racism in the UK. My first ever such experience in life. Was visiting some friends in Manchester. They live in an apartment complex. We were just about to leave. When I opened the door, I found something pink wrapped on the door handle on the outside. For a moment I thought it was some insect or something. Then I realized that it was ham - three or four layers - and a few slices thrown on the doormat as well. Clearly, a case of someone pissed off that some Hindus are living in that apartment. Past history ento teliyadhu. Our friends are taken aback and insist there is no bad blood. I advised them to call 999 immediately and report the incident. They chickened out fearing backlash from the community if police gets involved. Wifey and kids shaken completely. We left immediately and went home. However, they want to talk about moving back to India. Fortunately, at the moment where we live - most of the neighbours are friendly and at least not openly racist. But things may change unpredictably. Vollu daggara pettukoni undaalanukuntaa going forward. Can't take for granted anything here in the UK. PS: Yeah, you get a free pass for dissing the UK today - at least from my side. And those of you contemplating a shift to some other English speaking country - maybe Canada/Australia is much better from this angle.
